Field Hockey

Last year the BSHS field hockey team won their division, went to districts and made it to states. After such a big season last year the team knew they wanted to top last year’s team who included eleven seniors. The girls decided at the beginning of the season that they not only wanted to go to districts, they wanted to win and, ultimately, win states. The team has done well so far with a record of 5-0 in the league and 13-2 overall. Also, they are currently ranked fourth in district power rankings, which means the team is one of four teams that will have a bye week the first round of districts. However, the season is not over yet.
On October 4, 2014 the Lady Bubblers had an early Saturday morning game against the Northern Polar Bears who are ranked second in the district power rankings. The game was a must win for the Bubblers and they won with a 1-0 victory. The game was a battle, and a goal was finally scored by Sophomore Karli Alichwer with 7:25 left in the game.
The Bubblers ended the season as division champs. They had their last six games over a span of nine days and came out victorious in all. The girls last three games were division games against Big Spring, Shippensburg, and Greencastle, if the Bubblers had lost to the Shippensburg Greyhounds the bubblers would have relinquished the division title to the Greyhounds. This is the third consecutive year the Lady Bubblers have earned the division title.
