WRESTLING WRAPUP
The Bubbler wrestling team finished yet another stellar season. The team scored 11 wins and only 3 losses in the regular season, finishing first in their division. In a non-league rivalry match against Bermudian Springs on January 17, the Bubblers took their opponent by storm and came out on top again with a final score of 33-23.
Going into the post season, the Bubblers held the quarterfinal and semifinal matches at home where they beat Biglerville 59-6 in quarterfinals. Pins from Jalin Hankerson, Lucas Shoop, Korbin Myers, and John Vaughn helped advance the team to the semifinal match against Delone Catholic. Pins from Grant Bond, Kyle Shoop, Austin Taylor, and Ricky Ott brought Boiling Springs to a 56-12 win. On Saturday, January 31, the Bubblers faced Northern Lebanon in a battle for the District title. For the fifth time in a row, Boiling Springs earned the number one spot in the district, beating the Vikings 52-15.
With the help of the “Super Six” seniors and some new wrestlers, this year went down in history as the first year the Bubblers took first in the state championships.
