Self mutilation can be seen as “tragically beautiful” along with the illnesses that cause one to self-harm. Imagine constantly counting things over and over, cleaning all the time but still feeling dirty, feeling an intense anxiety when trying to go to the mall, contemplating staying alive, and slitting your wrists because its a way of coping with negative feelings. This is reality for the many suffering from mental illnesses, which impact the lives of both genders equally. It is important to note that boys do in fact suffer from mental illnesses.
