In 2004, a jewelry company was founded by Carolyn Rafaelian using her father’s old factory in Rhode Island for production. Rafaelian began her corporation with the intention to produce American-made products that would promote positivity and mindful actions. Eleven years later, she is the CEO of a multimillion dollar jewelry company, Alex and Ani. Even after a decade, Rafaelian still believes in the morals on which she started her company. Boiling Springs High school put on their very own rendition of Funny Girl, which was made popular by Barbra Streisand on Broadway and film in the 1960s. They performed the original Broadway version, which included the same hit songs as the film, including "People" and "Don't Rain On My Parade." On March 14 at the First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, Rebekah Vensel hosted a benefit concert to raise awareness lasting three hours. Her father’s recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer was her inspiration to raise money for the cause. Many of Vensel’s friends assisted throughout the night by collecting donations, guiding guests to appropriate areas, and even performing.
